Prickly Box (Bursaria spinosa, Sweet Bursaria, Christmas Bush) It has two Aboriginal names: geapga and kurwan (Dharawal). Bursaria spinosa is a medium to large shrub or small tree native to Tasmania and the East Coast of Australia. The fragrant flowers are known to attract butterflies to the garden. A unique candied honey with a sweet delicate flavour, pleasant aroma and overtones of Marzipan.
Prickly Box honey is a favorite amongst many customers who find the Leatherwood flavor “a bit too much”; Prickly Box is, in some respects, like a milder, more muted version of Leatherwood honey, with some tasters also finding hints of butterscotch.
